BE Dr Wee Boon Hup - BB Boy to Bishop

Thirty-one year-old Mr Wee came to Paya Lebar in 1965 as a member of the Boys' Brigade where he managed later to earn The Founder's Badge, the highest award in the Brigade. Converted in 1967, he gradually became more involved in the church by joining the MYF, where he served as Vice-President a year and for a shorter time as President. He was also actively involved in teaching in the Sunday School. Mr Wee graduated from the University of Singapore in 1977 with a Bachelor of Social Science in Political Science. Four years following that he worked in the National Youth Leadership Training Institute, the Peoples' Association and Singapore Airport Terminal Services respectively. His decision to enter full-time work came after years of prayer and consideration beginning with a dedication response during a service in Paya Lebar Methodist Church in 1972 when Dr G D James was the speaker In 1981, Mr Wee entered Trinity Theological College Singapore in preparation for a pastoral ministry upon graduation.
