2016 Jungle Christmas
CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
A JUNGLE-THEMED CHRISTMAS For SILVER BOXES
Carolyn Lee
The Silver Boxes celebrated Christmas with a difference on 18 December 2016.
For the Juniors, the 11.15am Junior Department helmed a jungle-themed programme for both sessions, focusing on how the animals in the jungle used their individual talents to glorify themselves, or to help others, ending with a message of the Three Trees.

The story told of how each of the trees had a dream of what they wanted to become when they grew up. But just as their dreams seemed to be dashed to pieces, they realised that Jesus, who came to the earth to fulfil God's promise, was with them.

It was an object lesson for the children that when things do not seem to be going their way, God who has a plan for them will give them the gifts, if they would place their trust in Him. Each of the trees got what they wanted, but just not in the way they had imagined. We do not always know what God's plans are for us. We just know that His ways are not our ways, and His ways are always the best.
