PLMC's Covenant Praise and Prayer Service (CPPS)

Sunny & Yoke Ming, Yap

The CPPS service started out in PLMC in 1991 as a service whereby the "flow of the Service is lead by the Holy Spirit". The Service was helmed by a group of PLMC members (the late uncle Khoo Oon Hoe, Jeremy Gwee and Vincent Chang) in a small classroom in the adjoining church premises. Subsequently it was later helmed by pastor David Wee Boon Hock.

This Service started out with an initial attendance of about 10-20 church members and run concurrently with the 11.15am traditional Service. The congregation was encouraged to pray (in words and 'in tongue' as lead by the Holy Spirit') before the Worship commenced. We had external Speakers to preach the sermons. The manifested presence of the Holy Spirit was strongly felt in every of the Service and within a few months, the congregation grew 'exponentially' such that the classroom had to be enlarged by breaking down the partitioning walls. Under the manifested presence of the Holy Spirit, some individuals who came out for prayer were ministered to, with some started to pray in tongue (as desired in their heart) and some manifested and were delivered.

Over the years, the congregation in CPPS grew and evolved into a separate Service running in concurrently with the church 11.15am Service. It was later renamed as  Lifespring service during Rev. Wee Boon Hock’s time. During these periods, monthly Healing ministries were held and church members were encouraged to attend and learnt to pray in tongue as lead by the Holy Spirit.

In year 2001, it was merged with 11.15am traditional service and evolved into a contemporary service, renamed Celebration Service. "
