Getting to know Pastor Kow Shih Ming
Please tell us about yourself and your family.
I am happily married to Soh Wai & we have two beautiful daughters, Simone & Samantha who are 19 and 16 respectively and Butterscotch, our dog. I am passionate about preaching that changes lives, leadership that transforms churches and organisations, and spiritual formation that nourishes the soul. Personality-wise, I am an introvert. I have difficulty remembering names (including my own relatives) though I can remember most faces. So, please tell me your name a number of times; it helps me.

How long have you been in ministry?
Since August 1992. Before I went to seminary, I worked as an electronics engineer in a MNC.
How do you see yourself as a pastor?
Ephesians 4:11–13 (NIV) So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. In keeping with Ephesians 4:11-13, I am to equip God’s people for ministry so that the body of Christ is built up and becomes mature in Christ.
What do you do for fun and leisure?
Spend time with my wife, with my kids; eat, read. I enjoy most racquet games but given my age & schedule, that has been laid aside.
What do you like to eat? (Very important in PLMC)
Seefood – I see food, I eat. Though I do enjoy eating almost anything, my present two favorite cuisines are Italian & Japanese. Local food – Among many, many that I like, what comes to mind at time of writing are yam cake & kueh salat, but they must be good.
How can we support and pray for you?
Share with me what God is doing in your life. Your story with Jesus will encourage me. Forgive me for the times when you feel that I have failed you; I am a saint in transition, going on to perfection by the grace of God. Pray for me what the Lord puts into your mind. If you don’t receive anything to pray about, pray that I will abide in Christ, rest in the Father’s presence and, discern and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. Also lift up my family in prayer that they will experience God’s love more fully & they will love God more deeply.
