2008 Church Bells Dedication
大钟献上给上帝的荣耀
The rousing sounds of church bells ringing sounded once again from the bell tower of PLMC on Sunday, 5 October 2008. It was a very special Sunday in the life of our church as we dedicated our new church bells at the 9am Sanctuary Service, officiated by Rev Dr Wee Boon Hup, TRAC President.

In the dedication ritual, the church bells were dedicated to the glory of God and for service in PLMC. The set of three church bells were kindly donated by our honorary steward, Mr Seah Kim Chye, in loving memory of his late wife, Mdm Yap Yoke Foong.
Church bells have a long history. In days gone by, before clocks existed, they sounded the call to prayer and worship to the townspeople, marking out the time of day for the worship service. Before the advent of mass communication, church bells were also the only way to gather a village together when it was time for the worship service. In addition to signifying the time of the worship service, church bells are also rung during weddings and funerals.
