2005 Christmas Party

Announcing The Good News

A nativity play with a local flavour; beautiful renditions of Christmas carols by Mr Jusuf Kam, Ms Judith d'Silva and Ms Deborah Mae, and the ladies from the Indonesian Fellowship; heartfelt worship singing by the congregation, led by Maj EH Robson; and a thought-provoking message by Mrs Phoeboe Kodrat were the various elements that made up the memorable Peranakan Christmas Party on 17 December 2005.

The Peranakan Fellowship took the opportunity to present Rev Wee Boon Hup with a farewell gift during the event. In the spirit of giving at Christmas time, each person who attended the event was blessed with a gift by the Peranakan Fellowship.

The nativity play, entitled “Kabarkan Kabar Baik” (Announcing the Good News), featured original lyrics composed by Mr Eric Wee based on bible verses, sung to old familiar tunes such as “Chan Mali Chan”, “Alisan De Gu Niang”, “Rasa Sayang".

The programme ended with a sumptuous, spicy buffet dinner, as everyone tucked into a hearty meal and enjoyed a time of fellowship with one another.

WSCS Christmas Outreach
The Women's Society of Christian Service (WSCS) organized a Hokkien outreach for the “Son”shine Mums on 17 December 2005, in conjunction with the “Son”shine Kids Christmas party.A total of 65 people attended the event, although only a small number of “Son”shine Mums joined the session.
The speaker, Mark Ng from New Creation Church, shared his personal testimony on how he found God and explained the “logic” behind certain Chinese religious practices. A charismatic and entertaining speaker, he was able to engage the audience with his lively and humorous sharing.

We thank God for the four people who responded to the altar call, and one person who rededicated her life to the Lord.
